My passion is creating original pieces that provoke emotion in others.
As long as I can remember, I was an artist, whether it be singing, dancing, acting, painting, or drawing. I fell in love with art because I could easily express my emotions and thoughts throughout my puberty-filled life. In school, people thought they could bully me and convince me that I wasn't good enough. But, art was my mirror and allowed me to see what they blinded me to. I made them question their harsh and pointless words by being a living piece of art through my style, performances in drama, and art showcases.
Parsons Pre-College Academy is a platform for me to develop my foundation in the fine arts. After middle school, I focused on performing arts and forgot about fine arts. I need help getting back into fine arts, and Parsons Pre-College Academy is the hand that's wide open. I want to be immersed in the world of fine arts, and I know that Parsons is the place to go to do this.
"Chassidy is an unusual young lady. Her focus and determination have kept her away from the usual teenage angst and tribulations. To have an academic average of 93, especially with her extracurricular involvement, shows that she exhibits drive and determination beyond most teens. Her creativity and artful nature makes her stand out. The way she dresses and her colorful personality are so refreshing. Attending Parsons Pre-College Academy will enhance her talents and help her grow as a student and as a person."
Thank you to everyone who helped me achieve my dream of learning photography at Parsons. The class was amazing! I met so many people from all over the world and they were so nice. The teacher was fantastic and taught me many things I didn't even know existed. I have grown so much and am so grateful that I got the chance to attend his class! I will never forget the things that I've learned. I got to work with a real fashion designer and take photos of her clothes. It was amazing! Thank you again so much. Woohoo! I am beyond thankful that all of you wonderful people helped fully fund me. This summer, I will be attending Parsons Pre-College Academy for photography. I chose this program because I realized how much truth there is in the statement, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Photography is such a powerful medium for influencing positive change. I want to be able to do that. But first, I need to learn how a camera works and how to get the best out of my camera. I am so excited to meet my instructor, make new friends and memories, and create something great that I can be proud of. Thank you again so much! This means the world to me.
