Kerry's Story

My passion is trying new things.

I have a passion for trying new things, whether it's an activity, sport, or food. I discovered my passion when I joined Row New York. Row New York is the only rowing/crew team in New York City, and I hadn't heard of the sport before my friend introduced it to me. I, therefore, joined to find out. It's as if I have a fear of the "unknown" and must make it "known."

Brown Leadership Institute grabs my attention because of the different opportunities and activities that are involved. I can find solutions to world problems inside the classroom through activities like debates and outside the classroom through field trips. This program allows me to do so many things and view the community as a whole rather than focus on only one aspect of it."

"Kerry already has the innate qualities of being an excellent leader, and I feel that Brown Leadership Institute will give her the tools to really understand how she can put her own talents to the best use. Additionally, I feel that she has a lot to offer other exceptional students who will attend the program, as they would certainly be sharing leadership and community action ideas with each other. Kerry's strength as a leader and contributor puts her in an elite category already, and I really want to see her passions being explored to the greatest extent possible, as the Brown Leadership Institute allows."

Thank you again for this life-changing experience. After completing this program, I know now more than ever before that Brown University is the school of my dreams. Thank you all for making it possible for me to attend this program. I couldn't have done it without you!

Thank you

I will be attending Brown's precollege summer program in about a month and I am really excited to be attending this program. This will allow me to capture a life changing experience that can help me in college and beyond.

I cannot wait to meet new people and get a sneak peak at learning on a college campus. And I can do all this because of those who helped make this come true for me. Therefore, I thank you again for supporting me!
