Gregory's Story

My passion is basketball. My male role models have always pushed me to do my best with everything I try and basketball is no exception. I first came to find my love of the game when watching LeBron James play. He plays so flawlessly and, with his former teammate Kyrie Irving, I saw brotherhood. I use basketball as a way to escape from reality. The game just gives me this feeling that I'm never going to give up, and I'm always going to push harder to get better every single day. When I first started playing in seventh grade, I wasn't that good. I failed to make the school basketball team that year. When I felt the pain of being turned down from the team, I pushed myself harder and harder to get better. The next year I not only made the team, but was welcomed to the starting lineup. That's when I realized I want to play basketball for the rest of my life.

I see US Sports Nike Basketball Camp as a way to put me on the map and a way to hone my skills correctly. I think that if I attend here, I can become a greater player and find brotherhood with the other kids there.
