My passion is dance..
Dance became my passion when I was watching a show on MTV called America's Best Dance Crew. It was about hip-hop dance crews from all over the world competing for a $100,000 grand prize. I was mesmerized by the way that the contestants moved their bodies in synch with the beat. The dancers were free to express themselves however they wanted without limitations, which let them show their full talent. The show eventually stopped airing, but ever since then I've been hooked on dance.
Attending BDC hip hop Classes will help me build my overall dance skills and my own unique style. It will help me gain the experience I need to audition for a role in a music video and guide me closer to becoming a professional choreographer like Ian Eastwood and Rosero McCoy. Some day, I would like to help people my age realize that doing what you love can unlock new opportunities.
"Viany is an extremely talented young woman. She has uncanny critical thinking skills and demonstrates these talents through her exemplary work in class and participation in discussions on challenging topics. One challenge for a new, small school like ours is providing all of the enrichment opportunities that our students need to pursue their individual passions and continue to grow as people. Viany has shared her interest in dance with me on several occasions, and I am sure that she will bring the same level of commitment and passion to her work at BDC as she would to any of the other tasks that she's faced with maturity and poise."
Hi everyone! I hope you've all enjoyed Summer; I know I did! I would like to thank everyone who donated to my campaign. Without you guys I wouldn't have been able to take classes at Broadway Dance Center. I also want to give a special thanks to my advocate, Mr. Dryden, for supporting me long before this program and keeping up with me about dancing throughout the summer. My experience at BDC was exactly as I imagined. The environment is full of passionate, talented people that share the same dream as I and want to grow as dancers. The flexibility was a plus because I was able to participate in classes that I never before would have given a second thought. The staff was friendly and helped me whenever I needed help. I really liked the dance instructors' attitude because if you messed up it was okay! My overall experience was really positive, fun, and comfortable. I'm not done yet either -- I'll definitely be using my remaining classes. I even picked up some cool pins from their shop. Again, thank you to all!
I'm really excited to take open classes at Broadway Dance Center this summer! At first, I was nervous to take an advanced class, but I took an offer to take open classes. Now, I can try out other genres and see if I like them. Sometimes it's good to try new things. I'm definitely looking forward to trying out a new style of dance.
Finding something you love and committing yourself to it with other people that love it too is one of the best things about being human. Have fun, learn a ton, and make friends for life this summer!
Way to follow your passion, Viany! Can't wait for you to bring some culture into this world!
If Mr Dryden believes in you, so do we! We all look forward to hearing how you go. Good luck!!
Follow your dreams kid!
