Bianca's Story

My passion is nursing.
Attending Hartford Public High School Nursing and Health Science Academy has helped me realize that I want to pursue a career in nursing. I love a challenge and going into nursing is not going to be easy. Attending UConn Pre-College Summer Program will help pursue my passion for medicine by showing me what it takes to be a nurse. This will make my passion for medicine stronger, and it will be an amazing experiences that I will never forget.

Bianca is one of the sweetest students I've ever had, and she works very hard in school. Bianca will benefit from this UConn Pre-College Summer Program to expose her to the career field that she loves and enhance her reading, writing, science, and English language skills over the summer.

My Experience at the UCONN Pre-College Summer Program

My experience on campus was amazing. I got to make new friends and meet new people. On my first day there I met my roommate and she was great. In our dorm we would have a lot of fun and when one of us was struggling with our work from class we would help each other out. In my DNA forensics class, we got to swab our mouths for DNA and examine our blood cells. I learned so many things about forensics and DNA, and it was really interesting. I had a lot of fun on campus and I really hope I get to go again next summer.
