My passion is volleyball.
I tried out for my school's volleyball team during freshman year. When I made the team and the team had our first few practice days, I immediately loved it. I wasn't great at the sport but I improved little by little. This year's volleyball team was great. I improved so much more along with last year's teammates. Our record for this season is 10 wins and 2 losses. We got along with each other, helped each other, and motivated each other. Volleyball is a great sport that I would like to play for a very long time.
My co-coach and I started our girl's volleyball team from absolutely nothing. Stephanie joined our team in her freshman year- the first year we signed up to play in the Small School Athletic League. Due to our lack of resources and practice time, our team did not do well at all in the league. Stephanie tried hard, but seemed to have difficulty breaking out of her shy shell. As the season continued, Stephanie showed more and more of her personality. Now, as a returning player, Stephanie's skills have monumentally improved. I love watching her play because it reminds me of myself- she is completely herself, happy, comfortable and having so much fun when playing. She even organizes park days and will request to take a volleyball home for the team to practice over the weekend.
