My passion is Lacrosse.
I first came upon my passion for lacrosse when my young niece made me watch a television program with her titled "Teen Wolf." In the TV series, the main characters are a part of their fast-paced and intense high school lacrosse team. This was the spark of my passion for lacrosse and caused me to become more interested in the sport. For instance, after watching this show I searched videos about lacrosse and even started to watch some college lacrosse games. It wasn't till about three years later that one of my good friends invited me to go watch him play lacrosse. For that three year period I didn't even know that there were lacrosse programs/teams in San Jose. But after finding out, and watching him play, it wasn't till a week later I was geared up and also playing with him.
The Nike Lacrosse camp would be a great experience for me to further explore my passion of lacrosse. It would help me not only explore, but also gain more time into playing lacrosse because I still consider myself a newbie to lacrosse. Also, it would help me explore the diverse players and the techniques they use. This is important to learn cause maybe then I could learn new techniques or skills from other players and then they could learn some from me.
When I met Andrew over a year ago, I knew he loved sports more than I knew anything else about him. During this time, I have been able to get to know more about Andrew, but he wears his passion, love, and dedication to sports on his sleeve. While he started off the year playing football, I was there when he began exploring his interest in lacrosse. He joined a local team due to a friend's persuasion, but the impact that lacrosse had on him lasted far longer than he, I, or the friend who convinced him to join could have imagined. Seeing Andrew play lacrosse emphasized his genuine enjoyment in the sport. I not only saw the pride he had in himself, but I also saw the care he had for his teammates shine through in his comments and encouragements to others. Andrew will benefit from the Nike Lacrosse Camp to hone his passion and focus it even more. Andrew has only been playing for about a year and wants to improve and refine what he now considers to be a very worthwhile craft.
Good luck Andrew!
