My passion is the Science
What I am most devoted to are the science and engineering fields. Through my experiences in junior high, I was able to obtain new knowledge of the disciplines in engineering and science. There was a graduate from the California State University of Los Angeles who would come to our school and teach the dynamics of mechanical engineering. Through this exposure, I began to get curious about the different types of engineering majors, which is how I found out about aerospace engineering. Aerospace engineering requires a lot of physics, consequently leaving me to figure out the close relations that science and any engineering have. I was introduced to a lot of new fields of science and engineering that prior to this experience I had not even known existed. This then spurred my curiosity about how the human brain is affected by technology and thereby developed my curiosity about the field of neuroscience.
Attending Washington University in St. Louis Philosophy, Neuroscience and Psychology Institute will help me pursue my passion because it will finally allow me to have hands on experiences. I will finally be able to focus and go into the depths of neuroscience. This will help me explore specific things within neuroscience that will help build me up to what my future in college will ultimately be like within my major. I will appertain to a diverse group that shares the same interest as I. I moved from Mexico to the United States when I was five years old. Since that time I have always lived with my parents in Los Angeles and this will be the first time that I will be on my own learning by experiencing living away from home with people from other backgrounds.
One of the best qualities about Dulce is that she is passionate in everything she is involved in. If it is something that requires Dulce's effort and attention, she is relentless and pushes herself to become highly competent in whatever that area may be. I see Dulce's curiosity drive her ability to quench her thirst for knowledge. She is frequently asking questions to learn more and better understand the world around her. Dulce is an exemplary candidate for Washington University in St. Louis Environmental Studies and Sustainability Institute because of her zealousness. She is always in pursuit of finding better and more efficient ways to get her work done; she can apply this natural instinct to finding solutions to environmental issues that she will be learning about.
Thank you for helping me attend the PNP Institute at Washington University in St. Louis! I have learned more about human behavior, morality, philosophy, and the brain. I had a variety of lectures in the morning sessions and a variety activities in the afternoon. The program enabled me to efficiently work both independently and in groups. I also have gained valuable information about college life and the process to get there. I have sensed major improvements in my ability to present and my time management. Thank you for contributing in this exciting summer experience!
With my program being less than a day away, I'm more than thrilled. It is an exciting opportunity that has been opened to me due to your generosity. Wash U holds many new ideas and concepts that I'm fortunate to study and learn in depth over the course of the next two weeks. It has been something I have looked forward to all summer. Thank you! I couldn't be more excited!
