Nasheem's Story

Becoming a doctor has always been my goal and I have been passionate about medicine for as long as I can remember. I know that being exposed to the study of medicine before entering med school is a rare thing. Usually people have to wait until they're in college to be exposed to this. Centenary Summer Scholars will expand my horizons and expose me to the many different types of medical fields that will help me pick which path in medicine I want to pursue. This will ultimately help me in the long run because I will already know what specific area of medicine I want to specialize in.

A Note from Ms. Niles, Nasheem's Counselor

Nasheem is very clear on his college and career goals, and Centenary Summer Scholars will help him reach them. His tenacity to identify and pursue opportunities not only related to his interests, but also to those he feels may be beneficial to him down the road has always impressed me. Nasheem often inquires about activities that may be available and will research opportunities that are of interest to him inside and outside of the school. He will also share these opportunities with me, which may benefit the greater school community.

Cant Wait

I cant believe its almost time to attend my program. I am very thrilled to be part of this program and grow. this program will allow me to be one step closer to my dreams of being a doctor, and who knows maybe i might even go another track while at there. i also cant wait to meet new people. ever since i was little meeting people has always been important to me and maybe while there i might even meet someone that i will continue to be friends with the rest of my life. I cant wait till my summer program.
