My passion is engineering.
After the ages of 5, I constantly played with puzzles and Legos as a child and I continued with my passion with technology. I continued to have a fascination with technology and how it worked. I enjoy taking things apart and see exactly how it works. I just enjoy taking apart and putting things together and see it all come together. To me, there is no more satisfaction then putting something together and making something work.
iD Tech Camps is an amazing opportunity that is exactly what I am looking for. I want impact the world with the work I am doing. To impact the world and help people, that is what I want to do with life and work towards. Attending iD Tech Camp will help me better get a grasp on the field of work and help me better visualize my goal. The program will have us work in groups to solve one of the fourteen grand challenges for engineering in the 21st century. That is what I want to work towards, and this program will also help in the aspect of working with other people. Overall, I want to attend for the experience and to meet new people to further fuel my passion.
Juan has an innate curiosity about the way the world works. We are only about a third of the way into the school year, but Juan has already looked ahead and started asking questions about the intricate details of the Krebs cycle. In his work, he is very detailed oriented. He often asks for extra time so that his work is perfect. It is not surprising to me that he wants to go into engineering.
Juan needs an opportunity to measure his abilities against greater challenges than the ones we can offer him here at school. He definitely has the methodical branching decision tree type of mind that would be valuable in engineering pursuits. For these reasons, I believe Juan would greatly benefit from participating in iD Tech Camps.
