Seerut's Story

My passion is medicine. When I was little, I tended to be more interested in shows and books that revolved around medicine. Thi lead me towards pursuing a career in the medical field. For instance, when people around me get sick, I have a tendency to try to learn more about it. I'd research about the virus and how modern medicine helps in the outcome. Even at a young age I knew becoming a surgeon was my calling. I liked seeing the doctors on TV using scalpels and other instruments to help others. The human body is an amazing phenomenon, and I know learning about medicine even more will help to secure my future in the medical field.

I have many interests and the Yale Young Global Scholars program is an amazing opportunity for me to help enrich my love and interest in the medical field. This program will enhance my leadership skills along with a valuable education that I can apply to my studies. Being a hard worker, I know that putting effort in comes first. This program will also allow me to meet other students from around the country, with different backgrounds who have the same passion and drive to pursue a career in the medical field as I do. Along with my schooling and making new friends, going and living on a college campus will help me to better decide what I am looking for in a college, and what aspects of college education matter most to me.
