Abraham's Story

My passion is Basketball.

I discovered my passion for Basketball when I didn't make the basketball team. The coach would say "work at your game." I loved playing basketball in middle school, but I never practiced because I felt I was never good enough. People would say I was "wack" or I was "trash", and I took this to heart. I would start practicing basketball at the park every other weekend. Then it became every week. Then eventually, every day. This process became hard. I worked hard at my game and people still didn't believe in me. I realized it was up to me to believe in myself. Believing in myself was what pushed me to really love basketball.

Attending Nike Basketball Camp - Overnight will help me see how my determination and grit will help me succeed. The camp gives me the opportunity to practice my game and push my determination even further. I want to be even more passionate about the sport I play and increase my level of competition. I also want to join the camp to see if this is the career path I want to follow. I might change my mind in my later years and I might not. Going to this camp will show me whether basketball is the right choice for me.
