justin's Story

My passion is acting.

I was chosen for a summer robotics and science program at NYU, one of the teachers there taught us how to present ourselves and get rid of stage fright. At the end of the program, I asked about the acting company they worked for (Irondale) and began a semester there as a young actor. This is currently my third year at Irondale and I've worked hard to preform to the best of my ability every show.

I believe that attending the 92Y Musical Theatre Teen Intensive program will allow me to hone my skills and get over a lot of problems I currently have as an actor. Such as not rushing through my lines, making my presence clear on the stage, and enunciating my lines.

A Note from Ms. Feldman, justin's Mentor

I have seen Justin shine in the school environment on a daily basis. He always comes to my desk and says hi, as he says, "just to say hi." This type of initiative, however small, at a high school age when everything feels in flux- shows to me a passion for expressing himself. I know that Justin is super interested in acting however our school does not have a program like that. Therefore, he has made do in whatever ways he can. He shows up to his classes excited to learn and uses small pieces of time to talk to adults as opposed to his peers in order to step outside his comfort zone.
