My passion is writing. I discovered my passion for writing when I first started expressing myself. When I was young, it was hard for me to express my feelings whenever I was upset. When I am writing, I feel like I can connect with people with my writing to help them better themselves and also myself. When reading someone else writing, I feel like it gives you another outlook on what that person is talking about. Writing tells people a story about yourself that you can not explain verbally. Writing is a good way to express your inner you. Attending Centenary Scholars will help me pursue my passion for writing and storytelling because I will have the space to better myself and help myself improve. I can also learn about writing coming from other cultures as well.
Trina is a very mature 10th grader who takes initiative in finding ways to achieve her dreams. Trina is steadfast on pursuing journalism as a career; thus she seeks out avenues to help her build her writing and communication skills. Trina has decided to join the Debate Team. Trina made the decision to actively pursue an extra curricular that is academically inclined and perhaps not as popular by her peers. She knows that debate will help her develop and fine tune skills that will help her become a journalist. She is the kind of student who is independently motivated, self-aware, and makes decisions with careful thought and consideration to future goals. I have no doubts that she will adjust seamlessly to a college campus at Centenary Scholars.
