Alberto's Story

My passion is basketball. Others may see basketball as just another sport, but to me, it means a lot more than that. Basketball helped me find who I was and helped me become and build who I am today. I see basketball as a way of life that can not only keep you in great shape but also teach you a lot of leadership, teamwork, empathy, and sportsmanship. Basketball itself has helped me so much in my life by teaching me to play basketball in my community and become one with them. It also showed me how to get along with not only my peers but also the adults in my community and build bonds with both peers and adults.

Attending US Sports Nike Basketball Camp would allow me to build on my skills and be exposed to new people.

A Note from Ms. Goulder, Alberto's Teacher

Alberto is an excellent candidate for US Sports Nike Basketball Camps because he pushes himself personally, academically and athletically. He deserves the opportunity to experience rigorous basketball coaching, and he deserves the opportunity to meet and grow with other young men and women who take basketball as seriously as he does. I have no doubt that his hustle, both on and off the court, will positively contribute to the experience of other campers and coaches. Alberto is a natural leader and community builder.

Alberto will thrive in the supportive, competitive environment of US Sports Nike Basketball Camp. He is used to being among the best, and is always willing to step up to take positive risks, but I don't think he has yet encountered too many settings that really push his limits.

My Best Summer EVER!!!

This has been one of the best and wonderful summer experiences that I have ever had. I chose to sleep overnight and the campus was amazing, the dorms were amazing. Everyday we would wake up around 7:30 and eat breakfast around 8:00, the food was always freshly cooked and some of the best food I could ever have. The coaches would always have drills to run for us so that we would always be busy and most fun of all we would play basketball games for about 30 to 50 minutes. Honestly I feel like the camp has made me a better basketball player and person because of all the people I met during the camp and what I took away from them. Thank you so much for this I really, really appreciate all of the donations that were given to me, I could have never had this amazing summer without you all.

Basketball Camp is Almost Here!!!!

I am so thankful for everyone that has helped me have a chance to attend my first basketball camp. There are no words to express how I feel now that it is almost time for me to attend the camp. I would have never thought that I would ever attend one and thanks to you I have finally been given the chance to attend the camp. I am awaiting my Registration Packet from the camp and packing list so that I could prepare myself for this fantastic part of my summer made possible by you.
