Damesha's Story

My passion for music has always been there since I was little. My mom told me that when I was about three years old, while she was in the kitchen fixing me something to eat, I would always be twirling around or humming. Whenever a song would come on, I would start singing and trying to make a dance with it. I discovered I actually had a real passion for music when I was about eleven. Music became my escape for the world and the issues around me. Whether it was at home or school music became my safe haven and still is to this day. I grew up singing on the praise and worship team at church and in middle school I played instruments. It has always been easy for me to catch on to something especially when it came to anything involving music.

Attending Appel Farm Arts Camp will help me pursue my passion for music because this program will help me to build a stronger foundation in music. I will be able to learn new things about music but also overall life lessons. Attending Appel Farm Camp will help me discover different life lessons especially if I want to continue to in music and maybe even in the music industry. Also I was looking up the Appel Farm Arts Camp, and I saw videos on Youtube about this camp. In the videos I learned what students do at the camp, and this program really caught my eye.
