My passion is writing.
Writing became a passion of mine when I took a script-writing class over the summer one year ago. During the class, I found out that I wasn't that good at script-writing but liked creatively writing short stories. Throughout the summer, I wrote short stories that interested me and my peers. My friends would ask me if I wrote a new page in my current story, as they couldn't wait to see the characters develop and the plot thicken. My notebook would get passed around from one small group to another because everyone wanted to read my stories. This moment was crucial to developing my passion for writing because it gave me the courage to continue to write since people actually enjoyed what I had to say.
"Brianna is a very motivated student, particularly for being a freshman. In the fall, Brianna earned an A in her Humanities class, one of her favorite classes. Her Humanities teacher notes that Brianna has a diligent work ethic and tackles all her assignments with a "calm confidence." This is a reflection of her passion for writing as well as a motivation to push herself to be the best she can be.
Brianna is the perfect candidate for the Alfred University Summer Camps because it is an ideal environment to nourish her passion for writing. Our school offers opportunities in each academic department for creative writing, but I don't believe we offer enough in depth opportunities for passionate, focused freshman like Brianna. She has the ability to really flourish in a place dedicated to her personal growth and specific interest and passion for creative writing."
