My passion is technology.
Technology became my passion after my mom showed me how a computer really works beyond what we're able to see. Ever since then, I have researched the technology that I currently have. I researched why PlayStation is better than XBOX, as well as how I prefer Android over Apple and Monster headphones over Beats. This interest will help me able to start my own business in the future.
I will develop my passion by attending iD Tech Camp because I will be able to develop my tech skills. By learning new things, I will become even more passionate about what I want to do in the future. Securing my passion would also help me secure my major in college.
The biggest struggle I've overcome is life in my community. Trying to grow up to be a professional and successful young man would be hard if it was not for the charter school that I currently attend. Here, I get a rich education and positive influence from the staff and friends that I have around me.
"Maurice invariably completes all of his work each day, even if it means eliminating some of the activities (basketball, skateboarding, video games) that he would prefer to spend his time doing. Maurice does this because he is highly motivated to earn the highest grades possible in order to qualify for scholarships during his senior year. He knows that paying for college will be challenging for his family, so he is thinking ahead each day.
While Maurice is very hard working, he has yet to find his passion in his core courses. Having the chance to participate in iD Tech Camp will let him discover if he wants to pursue a career in technology."
I would like to thank you very much for allowing me to have this opportunity, especially before college. I will appreciate and cherish this opportunity when I attend camp later this summer. This will be something new for me, so I will experience something outside of my comfort zone. I can't wait for camp!
