My passion is baseball.
When I was 8 years old I was watching a baseball game and I told my father I wanted to play baseball. Since then I have been playing. I have put in all I can for my future and my family. Since I was 10 years old I have told myself I will play division 1 college baseball and I put in hard work for my dream. I love the pain and sweat that it takes to be great, working on your craft and coming home knowing you worked hard. I'm a gym rat basically for baseball, I love it.
Despite not having a baseball or softball field at his high school Luis manages to work out seven days a week. Luis knows that strength is extremely important in baseball, especially arm strength. The school campus he attends does not have a weight room so he joined a fitness team that starts an hour before school starts . Luis wakes up at 5:30am Monday through Friday to complete calisthenics with the fitness team to supplement the lack of resources at his school. Luis is extremely resourceful and always sees the brighter side of the picture. He is by far one the hardest working student athletes I have come across in my ten years experience coaching and mentoring student athletes.
Again, I would like to thank everyone from family to friends to people I don't know for the donations and helping me attend this great program. In three days you helped me get all the money needed to attend this program and I'm truly grateful for this. This process has shown me how there are people out there who are willing to donate to help another person continue their dream. Since April I've been accepted to attend the nike baseball camp and I'm just so happy and cant wait to go. I've been practicing with my team and focusing in my classes just waiting for summertime and to hit the field at nike baseball camp. Lastly, thank you all again for helping me and giving me this opportunity to get closer to my dream and making it a reality.
