I discovered my passion for marine science when I was younger. I have always been fascinated by ocean life and I want to dedicate my future career to aiding ocean wildlife. This field of work satisfies my interests because it allows me to further develop wildlife animal care, work closely with animals and possibly discover new species in the ocean. Also, with this career, I hope to be able to make future advancements in the medical world; which I believe will improve ocean wildlife and bring me one step closer to discovering hidden species lurking in the ocean.
Marine science grabs my attention because it satisfies my curiosity about undiscovered creatures and plants. I am confident my time at Centenary Summer Scholars will further my understanding of the current marine environment and ways I will be able to continue to explore the deep seas.
Samira has never let anything stop her in life. She is an incredibly hard worker, balances demanding academic classes with cheerleading and other activities, and still manages to put a smile on the face of every person she encounters. Samira has always stayed after school, asked questions, and budgeted her time accordingly to make sure she is always was prepared.
Gaining exposure to Centenary Summer Scholars is a way to change Samira's life. Attending this program will allow Samira to work learn from like-minded peers, professors and professionals in her field of interest while participating in hands-on activities.
