I remember I was in 8th grade I joined a one week club on how to make products and to advertise it. My group and I had to make a pretend hair product for our sellers. It was fun and difficult to come up with strategies that would be beneficial to our consumers. But at the end despite our big efforts to make that product happened, not a lot of people buying it, which left me a little sad but curious to know what would make a consumer buy my product. That's why this Summer Ithaca College program will be a great opportunity for me to understand ways that make products beneficial in peoples' lives.
I have an interest to see the campus of Ithaca College and wanted to get to know the college and to experience what is the environment like on campus. I like the fact that we get to have support coming from the Ithaca students and while we are still working hard academically we get to do different and fun activities everyday after classes.
Deida is bright, creative, and social. She would thrive in a new environment around new people. I think it would be a wonderful opportunity for her to visit another college campus, and explore an area that interests her.Deida is a dedicated student, and deserves a chance to study on a campus this summer. She seeks out opportunities and always takes advantage of what is offered. She is very supportive of her peers and will make an excellent participant.
After my first day of class, attending a lecture hall with only five other students can be tough, but I appreciated the fact that my professor put all his energy into the classroom. I thought the structure of being in college is better than being in high school because I got to manage more around my homework. Being a part of this program has helped me improve my writing when it comes to extended pages of papers for homework assignments. This is beneficial to me because I can carry that skill when I go to college. Taking the "Issues in Management" course made me realized that I truly want to major in advertisement because I love doing collaborative work and making up strategies to promote products. My favorite part of the course was learning of how Apple got to be the most selling brand company in the world, even though they struggled in the beginning. I got to see how they overcame their struggles with their strategic thinking. Additionally, being a part of this program has made me more independent.
Moreover, I experienced a wonderful time at Ithaca College and I would never forget the wonderful memories that I had with my friends and roommate, which I still keep in touch! Participating in this program has showed me that I am truly a people person because I love socializing and having company around me! All the memories that I had at Ithaca, like going to Darien Lake, hiking with my friends, and making s’mores for the first time, is something that I definitely brought home with me. It is a summer I will never forget and I wish I could have stayed longer. It is actually one of THE BEST summers I had so far! I am so thankful to my donors for helping me be a part of the 2014 Ithaca summer program! I truly recommend this to anyone!
Thinking about going away to Ithaca for three weeks make me very excited. I feel like this is going to be my first summer that I’m looking forward to. This program is going to be the first time I am away from my parents for longer than a week so I am nervous yet excited at the same time. This is going to be a great experience to learn a little of college life, meet new people, and participate in the activities provided. My goal for this program is to be more social and not to be afraid to put myself out there. A challenge I might face in this program is keeping up with the work and learn how to give a well written college level assignment to the professor. So I will overcome it by persevering through my work and asking the professor for help when I need it.
I thank you so much for your contribution towards my program. It means so much to me. Without your help I would not be able to get the chance to attend this great program that could benefit my future. Your donation will allow me to explore and to take advantage of what I want to do in the future which is to work in social media and marketing products. Once again thank you for your donation.
