Emily's Story

My passion is leadership. Leadership is a big part of who I am. I realized that being able to improve and putting myself in situations where I am not always confident is the best way to grow. I want to acquire new skills that will prepare me for college and the real world. I want to push myself and cross finish lines. I want to improve my inner strengths as well as push myself to never give-up.

Attending Outward Bound will help me pursue my goal/passion of constantly improving my leadership skills. It will allow me to encounter obstacles that may lead to questioning what I am actually capable of. It will allow me to unlock and discover new strengths within myself. I feel like this program would be really successful for me because I will have an opportunity to be challenged as well as connect it with obstacles I may encounter on my path to college. This program can be a stepping stone to develop my leadership skills, which will ultimately help me with my long term success. Overall, I know this program can help me discover my inner strengths while working with others and helping them find their strengths as well. I feel like the outdoors is a great place to start growing.
