My passion is Fashion.
I discovered my passion when i was around the age of 11 or 12 when I was watching a show called "Jane by design." I remember loving it so much that I started to do some sketches. I was so excited to show my sketches to my mom. I would try to dress fancy and dream about being old enough to wear high heels. Now that I can wear them, I know that beauty is much more than what you wear; it's who you are.
Attending FIDM will help me explore my passion by letting me see a little part of the world of fashion. I also want to know if what's on TV about the fashion world is true. I feel like it will show me if I really want to go into fashion when I grow up.
"Jazlyn is an excellent candidate for FIDM 3 Days of Fashion because she is a young woman who has identified her passion and has already made steps to pursue it. She is stepping outside of her comfort zone and branching out to learn more about a career that she is interested in. Many girls her age love fashion, but few actually explore and pursue this interest.
She will benefit greatly because she will be able to learn from professionals what the job entails, hear success stories from people who have reached their goals in fashion, and be able to discover substance in a topic that she's only experienced second-hand. I believe that this experience will be invaluable to her and will set her on the right path to pursue a career of her dreams."
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to go to FIDIM. I had a great time in the program. Being there helped me get out of my comfort zone. It gave me an idea of what I want to do in life. I also meet new people from other states. I got to meet really famous fashion designers.
