My passion is engineering.
This became my passion in middle school. I realized that I was very talented when it came to difficult math problems. I can solve hard problems when I'm focused and know how to work around the problem. With technology, I learned how to program over the summer after my ninth grade year.
My passion for engineering will be developed by attending Boston University Summer Challenge because I will be doing work that revolves around engineering. For two weeks, I will learn more about this field and better prepare myself for when I get into my dream college.
"Eisley's strong work ethic, ability to follow through, and questioning mind make him a strong candidate for Boston University Summer Challenge. He has an incredibly strong grasp of how to use his time wisely, and I feel that this program will bring out this ability even more, as well as give him additional skills to build upon."
Over my time at BU, two weeks, I really enjoyed myself with some awesome students and teachers. I met very smart, multi-talented students. When the professor assigned group work, there was no time wasted and everyone shared their thoughts. We had fun activities such as going to the beach, the museum of fine arts, and we even went to a BU comedy show. The professors were very amazing. Some of them were even still students at the university. They were very helpful with clarifying questions and explaining their PowerPoints. If I had the opportunity to attend another summer term at BU, I would gladly apply because I had an amazing time.
In the summer of 2015, I'm going to be attending Boston University's Summer Term. Over the the course of two weeks, I'm going to be able to take college courses, which include economics and engineering. I chose these two curriculums because I'm very interested in these fields. Since middle school, I always wanted to be an engineer or an economist because I'm very good with math. Being allowed to take these courses helps me get early practice and have a feel of what it takes to be in these classes. Having the opportunity to be exposed to something I always wanted to do is extremely exciting because not only will I be doing something I'm interested in, but I will be able to find other ways to gain more knowledge which will then help me for pre-calculus in the upcoming semester. Not only am I looking forward to these two weeks in a college class room, taking college courses, but being exposed to a different environment and lifestyle. By being in this different environment, I am allowed to be pushed out my comfort zone and explore a new place where I will rarely visit or be in.
Keep after it, Eisley!
I grew up in Cabana with your sisters and remember playing Wiffle ball with you when you were just a toddler. Glad to see that you have ambition. I hope this helps a little.
Proud to see a young African American male working for something no matter the hurdles. Keep it up!
Engineering is a great career! Good luck!!
Engineering is challenging but rewarding work. I hope it is a great experience for you.
Go get em, Eisley.
