My passion is forensic science.
I will develop my passion through attending NSLC Forensic Science because I will be able to learn and open myself up to new ideas. Attending this program will prepare me by giving me a deeper understanding of what forensic science really is. Additionally, it will take away some of my fears about college and prepare me for the type of career that I want to have. The experience of taking classes on a college campus and studying something that I am interested in will help me make smart decisions about my future goals. NSLC Forensic Science will help me realize my passions through experience.
"Every day, Lisbeth displays impressive persistence and motivation. Lisbeth’s grasp of English has grown in leaps and bounds as she tenaciously pushed herself to succeed in classes despite the challenging vocabulary. She struggled tremendously but came frequently for after-school tutoring, emailed her teachers for help and clarification of assignments, and spent hours on weekends plowing through work that took her monolingual classmates mere minutes.
Lisbeth has an innate curiosity and willingness to understand the world. She will thrive at NSLC Forensic Science, where she will be asked to challenge her powers of perception and scientific knowledge. "
This summer I had the experience to attend American University NSLC Forensic Science. I learned so many things, for example how to solve our own crime scene, finger prints, foot prints, and many more. Also I had so many friends with whom I'm in contact today. For example my roommate who came all the way from Trinidad to have the same learning experience as me. I learned leadership skills, now I can help others and communicate with people. This summer was amazing I wouldn't change it at all. Thank you wishbone for the amazing opportunity. It was a pleasure to be part of this program.
Thank you Wishbone for this amazing experience! This summer, I had the opportunity to understand the most important part of Forensic science. Also, I had the chance to meet new people and make new friends. The ten days at American University and the NSLC staff really made me realize what I want for my life. I also learned many leadership skills and had the opportunity to solve a crime scene. In this (not real) crime scene, we collected evidence, took pictures of our crime scene, studied DNA examples, and many more fun things. In this program I learned how to compare a footprint or fingerprint to a crime scene. We also visited many cool places in Washington DC, such as the Holocaust Museum. Thank you again for letting me be part of this program, I really enjoy every single part of it.
Lisbeth, you definitely deserve the opportunity to participate in this program. Keep up the hard work. Enjoy the summer!
