My passion is Soccer.
My passion for soccer began at a young age, around five or six years old. I can remember watching the Premier League on Sundays with my father in the morning. My favorite team was Liverpool, they were so electrifying when they grazed the field but the fans made it all better with the famous song "You'll Never Walk Alone". I had many football idols I liked that inspired me to pick up a ball and play with no hesitation. Three of my idols are Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Ronaldhino; all fantastic players blessed with athletic ability from God. I began playing soccer around the age of 7 with friends and adults learning and loving the game more each day. I also play Fifa on my free time, still showing my passion of loving the game virtually. I love football for the overwhelming joy it brings me.
Jonathan was excited to immerse himself in soccer since the moment he entered high school. I have a unique relationship with him because I am his advisor and soccer coach, so we interact each other a lot, especially during the soccer season. From the moment I met him as a freshman, Jonathan has done everything in his power to make soccer more relevant at our school. He joined the soccer club and helped recruit some friends that were unsure if it was something they'd actually be interested in. We are a relatively new school with one sport that is dominant and wildly popular: basketball. Given this, it has been an ongoing battle to get students to actually commit to playing a sport that it not perceived as "cool" amongst their peers. Jonathan has helped immensely with this because he also has such an inviting, respectful, fun-loving young man. I am grateful for Jonathan's inclusive personality and excited he has a couple more years in our school to continue to make soccer important and fun amongst our community.
Jonathan - thank you for increasing the popularity of soccer at UCHS. Good luck and have fun this summer!
Follow your dreams!!
Good luck getting to soccer camp, Jonathan. My family couldn't afford to send me to camp when I was your age, so it's nice that we now have sites such as this where communities can help others achieve their goals. I am a friend of Mr. Suhar's and trust his recommendation.
I'm childhood friends with your teacher/coach Mr. Suhar and was really inspired by your story. Hope this helps get you to camp! Keep pursuing your goals (soccer and otherwise!)
Excited for you to learn more and come back to make UCHS Soccer even better!
