Kaitlyn's Story

My passion is music. Music was introduced to me by the age of 4. I was always surrounded my music, whether it was at church or at home. My dad played his old school music on the radio that we had all the time. I would also watch lots of Disney princess movies that had lots of singing in them, making me find a even stronger love for music and musicals as I grew.

I want to not only get better at my singing but also learn more about what goes into singing as well. I feel that attending US Performing Arts Musical Theater will help me because I would be able to get that in person help that I wouldn't get at school or at home. I will also be in an environment where I would be surrounded by people who are interested in the same thing that I like, so it would feel more welcoming.

A Note from Mr. Bress, Kaitlyn's Teacher

I think it is our passions that give us the courage and the outlet to leave our bubbles, explore the world, and meet new people. I don't know if Kaitlyn has dreams of one day making a living as a singer, but I do know that right now we need to do everything we can to empower her to pursue her passion, to take her out of Hartford for a while, to meet new people, and to develop her talent. So many people her age are lacking that impetus, or don't have the maturity to recognize how valuable potential really is. I think Kaitlyn has both, and by attending US Performing Arts Musical Theater, she'll be able to fully immerse herself into an environment that fosters and develops her potential.
