My passion is psychology.
Ever since I was little I liked to watch scary movies and Law and Order. I also liked to watch Criminal Minds and my favorite character was Spencer. I would like to do criminal psychology when i am older like him. I like to to learn about serial killers and figure out why they do what they do. Whenever I watch a scary movie I look it up and find out the back story on it and try to see if it was based on a true story or not.
Denia would make an amazing addition to the Blueprint Summer at UConn. She is an exceptional student who works to challenge herself daily. For example, Denia is a student in my Advanced Placement Microeconomics class as a junior. Her enrollment in this class in such an early grade alone shows her dedication to challenging herself. This coupled along with the rigor of the course has provided me an opportunity to see the type of student Denia strives to be. She asks questions when she needs to, seeks assistance after school, and looks forward to new challenges to overcome. Blueprint Summer would allow Denia to have a look into the college experience and to prepare herself for the high expectations that college holds for their students.
I am going to attend the Blueprint Summer program at UConn. I am really excited to attend this program because I will be able to feel what it's like to actually have a career in forensic psychology. I'm looking forward to meeting other kids my age that share the same interest in psychology as I do. I chose this program because ever since I was little, I've loved watching shows like Law and Order, NCIS, and Criminal Minds. I've always been interested psychological profiling, like the character Spencer in Criminal Minds. I believe that by participating in this program I will be able to figure out if I really want to major in psychology when I get to college, and if this is really what I want to do as a career.
