My passion for forensic science interests me so much that I have tried to find as many possible ways to be exposed to this field. What makes me so excited about this field is that there are always mysteries that need to be solved. Just knowing that this job can save someone’s innocent life from going to prison is such an amazing thing. I would like to use all the equipment and be familiar with the tools forensic scientists use in the lab. It would be amazing if I had an opportunity to fulfill my dreams.
I come from a big family. I feel as though I need to set a great example for my siblings. I want to be that child that every family member will be proud of. I believe school is the key to success and I take every opportunity I can to reach my goals. I have very high expectations for myself, and my parents do as well and I don’t want to let them down. My parents have always pushed me to be a good student and I think that has shaped who I am today.
If I attend this program, I will be able to obtain the full college experience. I will be getting the chance to be able to take science courses through workshops and lecture halls. It will prove to colleges that I am capable of taking the next step after high school and challenging myself in a college environment — while exposing me to the field I am passionate about.
I want to be that student that college admissions look at and say, “This girl has not wasted any of her time and we should give her a chance.” I believe this program will do great things for me.
It is my pleasure to nominate Aldina as a Wishbone scholar. She will in all likelihood be our valedictorian in the class of 2014. She wants to do a summer college program at Brown University but comes from an immigrant family and does not have the means. The door Wishbone would open will help her and her family realize their dream of an American collegiate education, and a fine education at that.
I wanted to update you to let you know that I will be going to college next year! I will be attending St. John's University as a scholarship student and recipient of the American Banker Young Women's Leadership award and the 32BJ Scholarship Fund. I want to thank you again for supporting me last summer in attending the Summer@Brown: Pre College Program. I can't wait to continue working hard as a college student. Thank you again!
I would like to thank all of my donors for allowing me to live my dream of becoming one step closer to college. Everything that I learn will educate me on the career options that I have in medicine. Having a program such as Summer@Brown will increase my chances of getting into the schools that I desire.
