Naomi's Story

My passion is biology.

I discovered my passion for biology when I noticed I was really doing well in my science classes at school, especially living environment. I was extremely interested in how the body works to maintain homeostasis and defend itself from any viruses. What also interested me was the way our body produces memory cells to not catch the same cold or virus, so it would be immune to it if it was exposed again. This really caught my attention in ninth grade and I would enjoy learning more about the body and what is happening inside.

Based on my experience with Naomi, I can say without the shadow of a doubt that she is amongst the most talented and hardworking students with whom I have had the opportunity to teach and advise. She is well prepared to attend Centenary Summer Scholars. She has the ability to flawlessly balance school work and extra curricular activities.

My Experience at Centenary University

I am happy to announce that my experience at Centenary University was very positive and unforgettable. I got to meet new people with the same passion as me and we had fun growing and learning together. I will definitely have this memory etched in my mind and apply the skills learned later on in life. I got to interact with people from all around the word and I am happy I participated in this journey. I thank my donors and my advocate for always supporting me.

It Will Be an Incredible Experience

I will be attending an introductory psychology class at Centenary University. I am very excited to attend this program because it will be a great experience for me and I'll figure out if psychology is really what I'm interested in. This is a program that is not provided at school, so I won't take this opportunity for granted.

When my parents asked me what I would like to be when I grew up, I always said I wanted to be some kind of princess. But now is the time to actually seek for realistic interests. I can't wait to meet new people that have similar interest as me and make a friendship from that. I really hope I learn new things and have a great time.
