karen's Story

My passion is music.

I have been playing the piano since I was 9 years old, I like music a lot and possibly have a carer in music. It's lovely how I feel when playing the piano. I wish to learn more about playing the piano to improve my skills. All my life I've been a little shy, but I know that this summer program opportunity will help me become more confident.

A Note from Ms. Rodriguez, karen's Teacher

Karen has moved to Connecticut from Venezuela. Her limited English knowledge has not stopped her to pursue her passion for music. She is also motivated to learn English and become a great inspiration for her family and classmates. I am very excited and proud to be her advocate because I know she will succeed.

I know Karen will benefit from participating in the Saint Rose Pre-College Summer Experience; because she is been studying music since she is a little child. Providing Karen with this opportunity will enhance her cultural background and education.

My Wonderful Experience.

I really want to thanks to Wishbone and everyone that wanted to help me to go at Pre-college experience in The College of Saint Rose, I'll admit that this experience was one the most beautiful that I could live. I realized that my real passion is music, I did my first performance on piano in public. I really felt so high and I made a lot of friends on this camp, I met the greatest and amazing people that I've could meet before. I really loved this time there, and I have not doubt in go back the next year. I learned a lot of things, and this experience helped me to see and realize what I really want to do. I proposed my goals now. I'm very sad because I'm gonna miss everything but I'm so grateful with everybody that helped me to go. Thanks for everything!

Excited to go!

I've been very happy because I know that I can go to the pre-college of Saint Rose. I hope to have a good summer time, meet new people, and taste this new experience for me, a experience never lived before. I'll take enough clothes so I can do all types of activities, my cellphone and my personal toiletries. My parents are going to drive me on July 10.
