My passion is law.
Debating was always something that I loved to do. I realized that I had an open mind and good judgement about things when it came to debating and having arguments in school. I love proving people wrong, solving mysteries, and upholding JUSTICE. I saw that I basically had law and order in my life daily. Any time I had to argue a side whether I liked it or not I would always have good evidence to back myself up. As a kid I always watched Judge Judy and similar shows and being a judge is something I've just been passionate about. My aunt and uncle went to law school and have inspired me to follow in their footsteps.
Shaniya would benefit from being on a college campus and taking interesting, thought-provoking classes. She has a high level of maturity, motivation, and interest in learning, and she would take advantage of the many opportunities of being in this academic summer environment. She is a positive contributor is class and a strong, polite communicator. She would very much enjoy meeting new students and professors and learning more about herself in this environment.
I loved UCONN so much. The people were nice and genuine to us. I made a lot of friends with the other students and the counselors. We still keep in touch. This program gave me a closer look into what law really is about and although its a tough process i still want to do it. I'm glad i got the opportunity to go on this trip. I've never been on a college campus that long before. We also went to the supreme court and that was amazing. Being on this trip showed me that college is going to be fun. Thank you for everything WISHBONE and my supporters!
I will be attending the UCONN Pre-Law Summer Program and I am extremely excited. I've never experienced being in an actual court. My school does not provide us with what I think I need to enhance in my future profession. I am confident that this summer program will meet my expectations and teach me as much as they can in our short time period. I want to meet new people and I am excited that I get to see one of my college choices. I'm pretty sure some parts of the program might be complex, because we are dealing with LAW, but I know I can get through it. Thank you for giving me a chance to experience something that can positively impact my future.
