Joseph's Story

I discovered my passion for coding and game design while playing video games. While playing, I noticed that I am always interested in how the game was created. I am specifically interested in the coding of the game. I pursued this interest by watching different tutorials on YouTube of how to use programs like Javascript and Python. Centenary Summer Scholars will help pursue my passion for coding because it will teach me the different components of game design and coding. The program will no doubt be very beneficial to my success in the future.

Joseph is extremely passionate about coding. He understands the basic elements of coding in a way that he is able to fully explain these elements in a clear and engaging way. When I ask Joseph about his coding projects, he is able to explain them to me clearly, making the coding conversation engaging. Centenary Summer Scholars is a wonderful opportunity for Joseph because of his passion for this topic, his level of responsibility and his maturity. This program will benefit Joseph exponentially, allowing him the space and skills he needs to grow his passion. Centenary will allow him to have ownership over his education, empowering him to have even more dedication to his learning.
