Abdoukhadr's Story

My passion is swimming.

I discovered my passion for swimming when my brother won an MVP award at his school. He inspired me to try it out for myself, and I ended up loving the sport. When I got to high school, I was recommended to join our school team. This was new to me, since I've never been on a swim team before. However, this only pushed my passion for swimming further. I attended every practice, and was able to experience a space with people who were very good at the sport, which in return, inspired and motivated me to continue improving.

Attending US Sports Nike Swim Camps will help me stay active over the summer. This opportunity will also allow me to continue pursuing my passion of swimming, which might even lead to swimming in college.

A Note from Mr. Hu, Abdoukhadr's Teacher

I believe Abdoukhadr's attitude toward education and his study habits have provided me insight on who and how he is as an athlete. He is very hardworking and focused not only on completion but also perfection. Abdoukhadr always completes given tasks early and is able to double check his work before turning it to the teacher. Whenever I point out there could be mistakes, Abdoukhadr would cover up his work and do the problem again, which most students aren't able to do. With the opportunity participating in the US Sports Nike Swim Camps, I am confident that Abdoukhadr will bring those skills with him and push himself to become a young professional swimmer.
