I am really looking forward to this program, because I will be able to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people. I am excited to learn about the many organisms in the ocean, as well as gain connections with scientists and professors. Other than the incredible knowledge I will gain during this trip, I am also enthusiastic about going kayaking and engaging in other activities alongside my peers. What really stands out to me is the fact that we will all be able to choose a specific topic to study and explore during the second part of the trip. However, I am a bit nervous about being away from home without people that I know. It will be challenging for me to step up and make new friends, because I tend to shy away most of the time, but I will try to open up and express my voice and opinions much more.
