My passion is Sports Management.
I discovered my passion for sports management through playing sports. I realized that the chances of playing professionally were very slim. However, I have not let the thought of not making it professionally alter my desire to remain connected to sports. Instead I have spread my goals out, and have become a manager for a basketball team. Managing a girl’s varsity basketball team inspired me to pursue a career that remain connected to something that I enjoy, which is being an athlete.
Attending Syracuse would help me explore my passion by providing the type of experience that I will need in order to pursue that career after college. The first hand experience that I will receive in the Sports Management program at Syracuse will give me an insight of the real world, and it will open my eyes to the college life and everything that comes with it.
"Bernice is an excellent candidate for the Syracuse: Sport Management program and would benefit tremendously from being a part of it. The program would give her the opportunity to be in a college environment ahead of graduation and offer a valuable window into life on a university campus.
The program's focus on Sport Management would give Bernice the chance to learn more about a field she is well-versed and passionate about. She already has some first-hand experience in sports management through her role as manager of the girls' basketball team, but it would be wonderful for her to think bigger, and broaden her lens. It would be invaluable for her to be exposed to fresh perspectives and new ideas, and to really see how she can develop this passion into a viable career."
