My passion is engineering.
My school offers students the chance to take an engineering class. I’m currently in that Engineering class and as soon as the year started I found a passion for that class and a passion to learn more about it. Later on through the year we started using our computers more and more everyday. We go on the computers and use a program called Inventor. Everyday we learn how to create, assemble, and dimension different shapes and do many different things with them. We are even allowed to stay after school create our own unique designs and print them on the 3D printer. I love being able to create my own designs and enjoy them in real life. Just creating my own objects is so unique and exciting for me to do. Since I began this class I've had a passion for learning more about engineering.
Yarleny enrolled in our Introduction to Engineering Design course this year, and currently has earned a 99% in the course. She is interested in learning more about engineering and seeing her creations come to life and often stays after school to work on projects. While we have a few opportunities to further explore advanced science fields, these are not yet available to Yarleny as a sophomore. Yarleny knows that she is more interested in her math and science courses than her studies in the humanities and is eager to learn more about majors that appeal to her.
I would like to thank everyone that helped, supported, and donated to my fund! In my time in UConn I was able to experience I learned what it was like to live on my own and take on a responsibility of taking care of my self. I also learned the different types of engineers there are all around the world and learned more about what is it that these engineers do especially in there job. Meeting new people and doing group projects was also one of my favorite parts of the program. Thank you all for those that helped me have the opportunity to be able to have gone to this program.
I will be participating in an engineering program at the University of Connecticut this upcoming summer. I'm really excited for this program because it's a way to continue my passion outside of school. I feel like although my school offers an engineering class this program would really challenge my skills both with those around me and academically. I'm really looking forward to working with different people that come from different ethnicity's. I chose this program because I want to continue to develop and get a better sense of what is it that an engineer does. I believe that through this program I will be able to decide if this is what I would want to major in as I head to college in few years.
Realize your dreams. Make this world a better place.
Your summer program sounds very fun!! Good for you for following your dreams!
We need to encourage more women to explore careers in engineering. Best wishes to you as you become who you are meant to be.
You sound like a curious and driven student. More of what the world needs. Keep aiming high.
It is inspiring to see such strong young women wanting to get into the engineering fields and I hope this helps you accomplish that goal. Good luck in your endeavors.
I'm delighted you get to explore engineering this summer, Yarleny. You deserve it!
Soli and I wanted to help because we think your amazing and want to help guide your dream. Go Yar! 🎉❤
