Abdoul's Story

My passion is game design. I discovered my passion of game design in the 5th grade when I researched how video games were created. My curiosity quickly turned into exploration shortly after my sophomore year of high school, when I participated in a competitive summer program called All Star Code. In All Star Code, we were taught how to code using Javascript, CSS, HTML and Jquery, in order to code for websites and video games. We developed games like Pokemon, Pong, and Space Invaders. After participating in All Star Code, I was inspired to take my learning to the next level. I am currently interested in learning how to code using a game engine software. I am also curious to learn more about the professional life of a game designer.

Attending iD Tech Camps New York will offer many resources that will enhance my computer science and game design skills. The program puts us into small teams to create a virtual world. Attending this pre-college program at the Marymount Manhattan College campus will push me out of my comfort zone and help me meet people who I do not know but share a similar interest in game design. I will learn how to be independent and see how being on a college campus is really like. I hope that by attending iD Tech Camps New York, I can build upon my analyzing, problem-solving, and creative skills so that I pursue a career in game designing.

Abdoul is passionate about learning as evidenced by his challenging course load and the curiosity his teachers and classmates see every day. Abdoul deserves to attend a summer program, such as iD Tech Camps New York, that will foster and invigorate his interests. Not only will he learn more about programming, Abdoul will continue to hone his problem solving skills and get an opportunity to experience a college setting.

Thank You Everyone

I'm writing this in order to thank everyone who donated my campaign. With your help, I was able to attend a week-long summer program that taught me how to do 3d modeling and create a 3d game level. In this program, I was able to make a lot of new friends that also share my passion for game design. So I wanted to take the time to thank everyone for taking the time to help me get into the summer program.
