Emely's Story

My passion is Medicine.

I have been exposed to the medical field since I was young in many different ways and it is mind boggling to me how one can help so many people in so many different ways with the medical sciences. Growing up ,I was surrounded by big books my cousin used to spend all night studying. They were biology and anatomy books. It was all so amazing to me. It's completely fascinating to me how the human body works and cannot be completely artificially reproduced. My interest started to grow even more after taking a biology class in school and I was excited everyday to walk into my classroom and learn something new. Moreover, I started to watch live surgery videos on my own time and read endless articles. I then realized that I wanted to be a surgeon when I'm older.

I expect the program to be challenging and rigorous but leave me in complete awe with what I learn there. I will be almost as if I was in training, since a career in medicine consists of always asking yourself questions and using a lot of problem solving skills, the program will give me a taste of what it is like to start and explore the many wonders of the medical sciences. The classes will consist of exposing me to content that will contribute to expanding my love for medicine.
