My passion is the wilderness.
I discovered this when I would go hiking. I would either go with my old soccer team to workout, or I would just go hike with my family and dogs. I loved going up and seeing the beautiful landscape and seeing all of the wild animals ranging from cows to little tiny salamanders. Seeing all of the trees and the creeks was amazing. I love being outside and being active especially when it comes to being in the wilderness where I can let go of all of my worries and frustrations. I also love to learn about any plants and animals. Basically anything that has to do with the environment really excites me.
I believe that the Youth LEAD All Abilities Adventure Camp can help me explore my passion because I get to learn all about being in the wilderness and being able to explore it. By kayaking all over and being able to be away from home will be a great learning experience. Also, being able to learn about the plant and animals of Angel Island is a plus. As I mentioned, I love to learn about plants and animals of all kinds. Learning from what they eat to their habits makes me feel a little more aware and just a little more curious about the world.
Eric is a natural leader with an incredible maturity. He relates easily to his peers while maintaining an extremely level head in all situations. In our advisory group, he managed to both be a clown and a role model, able to read the group and lead them with humor or with a compelling argument. He would be a valuable member of this summertime community, and in return, would benefit from an opportunity to challenge himself further. He is extremely adept at navigating his world both in his jobs and at school. A new opportunity with new skills and environment would challenge him to grow even further.
