My passion is to further educate and immerse myself in technology.
By attending ID Tech Camp, I hope to continue to spur my passion for technology by acquiring more knowledge about technology and the ways that it can be -and is- used to change the world. I believe that through iD Tech Camps I can meet new people that will inspire me-and I them-to continue to pursue scientific fields.
"Jia is a standout student. She works extremely hard and asks excellent questions. She holds herself to an extremely high standard. Jia has an impressive track record and remarkable potential. I am confident that she will not only excel in a technology-based summer program, but also that she will leverage her new skills to work hard for social justice and equity."
ID Tech Camp was so much different than I imagined. I met so many people and learned things that I didn't think I would learn. The instructors were all friendly and went above and beyond in helping me understand the curriculum and research other topics for me to expand my studies after I leave camp. I've also made friends that I still keep in contact today. Friends that encourage me and help me push myself in both my academic life and personal goals. I just want to say thank you for the amazing support in sponsoring me to go to this program and for making it possible for me to go to this program.
I've just checked into idTech Camp, and everything seems really exciting. I can't wait to get started and meet all my roommates. The staff all seems really friendly, and I can't wait to learn some web design and photography.
After waking up early in the morning and eating a very healthy breakfast, we were broken up into our classes. For the photography and web design class, we spent the morning taking pictures on professional cameras and learning the basics of how to use them through online and instructor instructions. After lunch, we started working on Photoshop to create effects on the photos we took and to create personal name tags for ourselves. All in all, today was quite a productive day with yummy ice cream after dinner.
Today, we got new ideas from the designs that we created on Adobe yesterday. Then we set off to take pictures the whole day. In the morning, we took landscape photos of UC Berkeley's campus, then in the afternoon we went over portrait picture taking. And at he end we worked in Photoshop to edit those pictures and create a "zombie" picture out of the portraits that we took.
