My first passion was actually to be a detective, but I quickly realized I was more in love with the science behind it. By the age of 8, I was in love with science. I enjoyed the experiments and problem solving, especially because they were big problems that needed answers. When I started volunteering, I realized how many careers there were related to science as well.
When I was 12 my little cousin Xavier was born a premature baby. He wasn't able to eat by himself and was constantly in and out of the hospital. Although scary for my family, I was able to see first hand how the doctors made a difference. I want to attend Boston University this summer so I can continue to build on that inspiration. I want to dive deeper into science and see how I can help others, while also having a college experience.
Kelcey has worked hard to gain opportunities for herself, both in school and outside of school. In the past 2 years, Kelcey has pushed herself to get involved with New Haven area programming, particularly free programming through Yale. She is constantly seeking out new opportunities to expand her horizons, despite the restraints of limited resources.
Kelcey is tenacious and does not quit until she achieves her goals. I have seen this in numerous ways, but most importantly as a student.
Her pursuit of an excellent education so that she can achieve her goals of becoming a doctor is relentless. She would thrive in the Boston University program where she would be pushed through college level academics and collaboration with like-minded high school students. She is thoughtful and intelligent, and never hesitates to bring her unique insights and opinions to a conversation. She would be an excellent candidate for this program.
I had a wonderful time and I learned so much. Through this program I was able to interact with kids my age from all over the world it is a once in a life time experience I will never forget!
Thank you all so much for the support and donations. I am currently in the process of sending my registration forms and am starting to purchase items I will need for my stay there. Without you guys this will not be possible. I am ready t o have one of the best experiences of my life.
I love you make Tio proud..
Good Luck Kelcey!
Stay Encouraged and Live out your Dreams!
Good luck Kelsey. I'm very sure that you can do it.
Im very proud of you thank you for always thinking of your cousin Xavier
