I discovered my passion for culinary arts when I was little. For as long as I can remember, I have been in the kitchen while my mom is cooking, taking in all the smells of her delicious foods. I also enjoy watching the Food Networ - it is constantly helping me learn different techniques and motivating me to be a better cook. My ultimate goal is to become a chef one day, owning my own restaurant. In the meantime, I attend Cooking Club every Thursday, which I believe demonstrates that cooking is my dream and I will take the necessary steps, including attending Campus NYC Culinary Arts Program this summer, to help myself come closer to making this dream come true.
Shenell first expressed an interest in pursuing culinary arts during her freshman year. She has shown persistence in asking about opportunities that could help her develop skills and gain exposure to cooking and food, including attending Campus NYC Culinary Arts Program this summer. She attended a workshop led by one of the founders of Woke Foods, where she learned about nutrition, sustainable agriculture, and food justice. Shenell has also been one of our most dedicated members of the school's cooking club, during which she stays after school for 3 hours to prepare a meal with a group of students. She is consistently one of the students who sticks around to help with clean-up as well. I am excited about Campus NYC Culinary Arts Program because it will allow Shenell to advance her learning and branch out beyond the school doors.
I just want to say thank you to everyone that helped donate to my fundraiser. I had an amazing time at Campus NYC! I got to meet new people, make new friends, and more importantly cook amazing foods. I got to experience different foods from different cultures and I really enjoyed it. Hopefully I'm able to attend Campus NYC next summer and possibly board.
Thanks again!!!!!!!
I am so excited to go to my program on July 1! I am waiting to expand my culinary skills. Thanks again Wishbone and Campus NYC!
Thank you all for your fundraising efforts this year! We are happy to fund the remainder of your campaign!
