Destinee's Story

My passion is psychology.

A very close friend of mine was taken by the department of children and families when he was younger. His story made me want to help children who have a family struggle and have to be taken away from their families. I also have a love for children and believe every child should be with their biological parent or parents. It's hard to adapt to a new area but if your parents don't have the mind set to take care of their child a child deserves a chance to have a good life. I'm also defying the odds of being a social worker as African American. You don't see many African american social workers and I have to prove myself. I can do this and no matter what obstacle comes my way I can be the change a child sees. A positive change that some children need.
