Melissa's Story

My passion is science.

I have always loved using my passion to help other people. With the fast changing environment and changing climate, we are going to have to work together more often and use science to help those stuck in a bad situation. I would like to learn more about careers in the science world, and see how I can continue helping those in need.

Attending the NSLC Environmental Science and Sustainability program will help me strengthen my leadership skills while remaining focussed on my academic future. This program will create new opportunities for me, and I will have a better sense of what to expect after high school. This will be the first time I have the chance to do something like this during the summer.

Melissa is a great candidate because science is her main passion, and is trying to find opportunities that will open new doors for her future. She will work very hard and be 100% committed to participating in the program. She works really well with other students and is not afraid to ask questions if she doesn't understand things. She really wants to learn and is very motivated to do well in life.

Thank you for the great Experience!

Going to NSLC Environmental Science Camp; Sustainability gave me the best experience I've ever had. This experience was full of success, and it help me to become a more confident person. I learned a lot of social skills, that helped me socialize with others. It has change my life by becoming a better person. Thank you to the donors that helped me, and to those who gave me the opportunity to participate in my best experience. Thank you so much! I appreciate it.

Pre-Attendance Update

I am going to be participating in the Summer program At Yale University, which i'm extremely excited to attend because it will be a great experience for me. I feel that in school I won't gain the experience of meeting with a lot of people and communicating with others.

I am looking forward to be working with others. I chose this program because I will develop my efforts in sustainability. I believe that participating in this program will help me decide if the field I chose is the correct one for me. I will take the most advantage of this program.
