My passion is business.
Unlike other kids at a young age, I wasn't watching the typical children's programming; I was watching the news and politicians talk about business and contracts. It was truly in high school where I discovered my interest in learning more about business management. Over the past summer in 2015 I took an internship at a real estate company. I have spent my free time reading books about the economy and about how companies work.
The Management and Technology in the Business World program at Syracuse would help me explore my passion by giving me more knowledge and hands on experience. The world is constantly advancing and there are new technologies developed as we advance. I believe that this is a big player in the business field, and it's something that up and coming business people need to learn about.
"The thought of a person like Jackie entering the business world is a heartening a one, as I know she will bring integrity, strong critical thinking, and principled leadership to everything she does. In every setting, Jackie distinguishes herself by asking intelligent questions, presenting a professional demeanor, and bringing a positive attitude and good humor. Her determination is impressive.
Moving into her senior year with college just around the corner, this is prime time for Jackie to learn about careers in business, so she can make the right decisions when she's choosing a college. Furthermore, entering college with a deeper knowledge of complex issues like social responsibility and international trade will give her a leg up in the classrooms of the competitive schools I know she aspires to attend."
I want to thank everyone who donated and made it possible through their support and encouragement to attend the Management and Technology in the Business World at Syracuse University! I would never think in my wildest dreams I would have been able to attend a program like this and at such a prestigious school such as this one. I truly enjoyed my time there studying and getting to be more adventurous and outgoing. I made many new friends and connections there. I feel this program made me more certain of the career I want to pursue in college and get a sense of what it's like to be in a real college class. I would highly recommend this program for anyone wanting to or considering studying Business and technology! This experience is one I will look back on with a found feeling, and will happily look back on. Im so grateful I got to experience this!
