My passion is medicine.
The event that sparked my passion for medicine and healthcare was when my parents first bought me a plastic stethoscope and a toy medicine kit. As time went on, the plastic toys and the doctor-patient role playing games became a reality. My mom taught me how to care for my little sister whenever she was sick, and my dad showed me the therapeutic use of the medication he took each day and how it affected his body. Medicine and healthcare are what surround me every day, whether I am passing by hospitals in my community or I am reminding my dad to take his medication. Because of this, I realized that I am capable of helping those in need of medical assistance. My passion for medicine drives me to become a medical doctor.
Taylor is a compassionate young woman who seeks the betterment of the whole rather than simply recognition for herself. Her leadership is characterized by reaching out and supporting the growth and participation of others, not her own aggrandizement. These are essential qualities of a healthcare professional, and they form the essence of Taylor's personality. In addition, she consistently exhibits intellectual curiosity, and she is unwilling to compromise on the quality of her work.
She will benefit from participating in the NSLC Medicine and Healthcare program because she is still developing her understanding of what the healthcare profession entails. When she attends, she will undoubtedly make the most of the opportunity by seeking leadership opportunities, asking thoughtful questions, and honing her area of future academic study.
Attending NSLC Medicine Camp; Healthcare was truly a life-changing experience for me. When I came into the program, I was unsure about whether or not I was going to strive to become a doctor in the future. However, after the program, I now know that becoming a doctor is the path I am confident in taking. I am grateful for the opportunities of attending medical simulations and clinical rounds because I know that the skills I learn from them are the ones I will be applying to my career in the future. Also, I have met many amazing people along the way who have definitely impacted my life and I have now made connections across the US and internationally. NSLC HEAL was such an impacting experience for me and I am glad I was able to be apart of it.
I am going to be participating in NSLC Medicine and Healthcare at UC Berkeley this summer! This program will be a great experience for me because it will give me the opportunity to get hands-on with actual medical equipment. I hope to expand my knowledge in the medical field by attending lectures given by medical professionals and by participating in simulations.
I am looking forward to being surrounded by those who are also interested in the medical field. It is great to be sharing a similar interest/goal with my peers because it will motivate me to learn even more. What I think is even better is that I am able to work with people who are from different parts around the world and make new friends. I chose this program because I have a passion for medicine and I know that attending NSLC this summer will help me dive deeper into the field.
The key to success is bravely facing challenge and nurture your dream, keep it up and good luck for you Taylor
Taylor is great student which is why I wanted to help support her dreams and aspiration in any way I possibly could.
