My passion is technology.
Technology as my passion because I am fascinated by it. I am always on my phone either texting someone, on social media, or watching movies and videos. I want to be an engineer because technology is interesting to me and the classes that relate most to these passions are engineering, math, and science. These classes are some of my highest grades, which excites me because I am excelling in classes that cover content I am excited to learn about. I am also fascinated by video games because it makes me think of all the time and energy that goes into making a new console or game. I like to mess around and explore technology to unlock its potential and also I want to know how it works. Every day I use technology to see what I can discover, which is why i’m so addicted to it.
Attending NSLC Engineering will help me explore my passion for technology. In the program, we will work with different fields of engineering such as chemical, biomedical, aerospace, civil, and other forms. This all involves technology which fascinates me. I will advance my knowledge, and I want to know more about the technology I use and how I could make it my own innovation.
Gustavo's passion truly goes beyond the surface of a teenager enjoying using their smart phone, and digs deeper into his interests and performance in school. As it relates to his STEM courses, Gustavo is excelling. Being his math teacher, I get to see firsthand the level of intensity, curiosity and grit he puts forth in every activity, which has propelled him to the top spot in the entire sophomore class. He is also over-achieving in Chemistry with high marks and applied to be a part of our first Introduction to Engineering course, which he is shining in as well. Gustavo has put in the work to explore his passion as much at school as possible, and this opportunity would allow him to spread his wings and see what life as an engineer is really all about.
Dear Donors,
Thank you for giving me the chance to attend NSLC Engineering this summer. This program taught me about myself and has helped me have hands on experience in the field of engineering. I got to meet many new friends; without your help none of this would be possible! Thank you again for this life changing experience.
I will be participating in an engineering program this summer. I hope that through this program I will learn more about the field of engineering while developing skills that would make me more of a leader. Although I took an engineering class in school, I want to further enhance the skills I learned, and share these skills with other people. I have a true passion for engineering and I hope that this program will help me determine that engineering is a major I want to continue to pursue.
