My passion is culinary arts and business.
Culinary arts became my passion when I began to bake and cook at home. I would watch my mother in the kitchen cooking, ask to help, and I began to find it fun. Additionally, as my family members saw me take an interest in cooking, they began to encourage me to try to pursue culinary arts. Business had already been one of my passions, and after talking to my aunt about what I wanted to do when I was older, I started to think of how I could do both business and culinary arts in my future.
By attending Culinary Cooking Camp for Teens, I'll be able to develop my passion because I will learn about culinary skills that can further my knowledge of culinary arts. Additionally, attending this program will bring me out of my comfort zone because I will be doing more than the basic things that I do at home. Finally, working with industry professionals will provide insight into the business side of culinary arts.
"When I think of Kayla Hill, I think of kittens, unicorns, and rainbows. Kayla has such a positive outlook on work and life that she inspires me to look at my day just a little bit differently.
For as long as I have known Kayla, she has been at the top of everything she does. One of Kayla's top passions outside of school is cooking and baking. The Culinary Cooking Camp for Teens would allow Kayla to encounter brand new scenarios within a subject she is exceptionally passionate about. Additionally, this program would allow Kayla to meet people who share common interests with diverse backgrounds."
This summer, I will be attending a one week culinary program at the International Culinary Center. I chose this program because I thought this would be a fun and new experience to join a culinary program learning the right way to cook. Also, it would be fun to interact with a new environment and maybe even different foods then I'm used to. I'm looking forward to learning how to use a knife and other kitchen utensils the correct way and also trying and making new foods out of my comfort zone. This will be a new adventure and I'm ready to take it!
Thank you,
Kayla
It's so important to have a passion like yours, especially at your age. So, get after it! And goodluck! I am a friend of Evan Vaughn's from Maine so thank you to him for sharing your story.
