Taylor's Story

My passion is medicine and health.

Medicine and health have become my passion because my life has been greatly impacted by the people who surround me. Most of the deaths that happen around me are health related. In a recent video that I watched in my Academic Leadership class, I have learned that a numerous amount of deaths in America are caused by health-related situations. I think that learning about both medicine and health will greatly expand my medical knowledge. Because of this, I have finally realized that I will be someone who will help others in need.

Because my passion is medicine and health, NSLC Medicine & Healthcare seems like the perfect summer program for me. After reading the program description, I have learned that it is great for students who would like to pursue a medical career in the future. My career goal is to become a doctor of internal medicine. I think that this program will give me a head start in the career I would like to engage in. Not only will NSLC Medicine & Healthcare give me a head start, but it will also give me the experience of what a college class will be like. This will give me an advantage against others who also plan on entering the medical field.
